Every sunrise and sunset, scored minute by minute within its window of light. We tell you the exact minute and where to look.
Is it a good MOMENT to go out?
We cross the light with rain, storms, the UV index, heat, cold and wind. With official scales and a clear verdict, now and over the next 48 hours.

More detail: the next 24 hours and sources
Sources. Hourly forecast from the ECMWF, DWD and Météo-France models via Open-Meteo. Rain intensity on the AEMET scale (light up to 2 mm/h, moderate up to 15, heavy up to 30, very heavy up to 60 and torrential above). UV index on the WHO scale. MOMENT Weather is a guide only: it does not replace official AEMET warnings or Civil Protection advice. Full method and sources.

How MOMENT Photo is calculated
One number, six readings of the sky.
The sun’s position, to the minute
NOAA solar algorithm with refraction correction. Golden hour and blue hour weigh far more than midday.
The sky’s canvas
High and mid-level clouds covering 30–70% of the sky are the ones that catch colour. A completely clear sky gives a pretty gradient but no show: it never scores above average.
We look 50 and 130 km away
For light to reach the clouds, the horizon where the sun rises or sets has to be clear. It only really counts when there are clouds to light up.
What dims or boosts the colour
Visibility, fog risk, aerosols and dust (CAMS), rain and wind adjust the score. A sky clearing after rain raises it by 8%.
Three models, one honest answer
We compare the clouds forecast by ECMWF, ICON and Météo-France. If they agree, confidence is high; if they disagree or the moment is more than 30 hours away, we tell you.
Data: Open-Meteo forecast with the best model available for each point, cloud cross-check with ECMWF, ICON and Météo-France, and aerosols and dust from the European CAMS service. The page re-checks the forecast every 15 minutes; the models themselves update several times a day. MOMENT is a gourmetMAPS model: it estimates light quality, it doesn’t guarantee it. The best colour often arrives 10 to 20 minutes after sunset, so stay a while.
